BOOK REVIEW: Klokor Okai on ‘Pretending to be President’

Agoo! Amee! Agoo! Amee!

I am the town crier sent to tell you that when a man learns to wash his hands, he eats with the elders. A pregnant son of the land has gone within himself and birthed a book; the elders say we must listen and learn.

Masterfully and craftily woven, Pretending to be President chronicles the thoughts and musings of a President as he navigates the challenges of running a nation.

With the same precision the custodians used to build the Larabanga mosque in Northern Ghana and the Sydney Opera House in Australia, Dadzie successfully channels the very human thoughts and ideas, any man, tasked with governing a nation would have.

Far from being a tear-jerker or academic exercise, Dadzie brings his natural gift of humor, tinged with sarcasm much to the delight of the attentive reader.

Agoo! Amee! Agoo! Amee!

I am the town crier and the elders say let them who have wisdom get a copy!

  Ato, are we to expect volume 2? I believe the very people who are extolling ur book will do same when the 'character' is J E A Sllim. Ato has proven that it does not take one to earn master's degree b4 one can write a book. A.B.A Fuseini should take a cue from Ato. Kudos Ato.

  "Ghana's most irreverent", congrats!!!! Waiting for the Amazon info. Ato while you celebrate the birth of your book, I need an answer to a question. Do parliamentarians in Ghana introduce bills (individual)on the floor as is done elsewhere in the world or it is the sole responsibility of the government in power? Thanks man and "when the mouth is full, let some spill into the beard"!!

  @ATO,
I ask this question but you decline to comment:
Would you like to raise people creative writing skills to your level especially from deprived areas? if yes then consider Donating some copies of your book as library materials to some of those deprived schools in the country in that way you will contribute you little quota to this country of ours towards the development of literacy. God bless Ghana
